ABOUT US AND OUR 5K RUN
The goal of this race is to raise awareness about international health care issues and engage our  community in outreach through participation in local events. We hope the Minneapolis, St. Paul community can enjoy this race and contribute to it's deeper meaning. The money donated from this race will benefit others who don't have the access to the basic health services most of us take for granted. Please join us in our mission to provide quality health care to the people of The Gambia.  It is our firm belief that health care is a human right, not a privilege.  By simply registering and showing up to run you can help us make our dream of a healthy Gambia a reality.

A Hand In Health operates as an umbrella non-profit organization managing and directing smaller individual projects and supporting other initiatives that arise due to an existing need in The Gambia, West Africa. We support and assist initiatives for solar electricity, fairly traded recycled goods, and dental education programs. The proceeds from this 5K race will directly support The Muunoo Smile Project, an outreach dental mission running this June. All proceeds will be used to purchase equipment, such as a sterilization system and x-ray machine, to allow the dental ward the opportunity to provide basic oral health care to those in need.
